There's an easily accessible and very helpful acupressure point for back pain, overwhelming fear, and wintertime balance. It's called Bladder 40/54.
Acupressure points are located all over the body and act like windows to the entire energy system. When applying very gentle pressure with just the fingertips at these point locations, the whole energy system is invited to recalibrate and balance. Bladder 40 (54) is a great point for: -- BACK PAIN... especially of the low back and backs of the knees, though it addresses tension and aches along the entire back of the body. By applying gentle pressure to Bladder 40, we invite the tension, aches, and pains in the back of the body to drain down and out of the feet. (In Soul Lightening Acupressure, this point is actually called Back Drain). -- FEAR... especially overwhelming or overflowing fear (those moments when fear seems endless or it is showing up in many aspects of life). By applying gentle pressure to Bladder 40, it’s as if we’re reminding ourselves that we do not walk this earth alone and that there’s plenty of support here (even if it feels like there isn’t). -- FEELING OVEREXTENDED... depleted, and exhausted at any time of the year and particularly during winter, a season that typically supports slowing down, resting, and restoring. By applying gentle pressure to Bladder 40, it’s as if we’re conserving every single drop of energy that we do have in order to survive, replenish, and thrive. Check out this video for instructions on how to locate acupressure point Bladder 40 while seated or lying down. The video also contains a simple meditation, or visualization, to increase the potency and effectiveness of the point.
