Unveiling the Mystery of Yogic Sleep
Sunday, june 14, 2 - 4pm
Via Roots & River Yoga, Brunswick, MD
Live Online + Recorded
The meditation practice of Yoga Nidra, referred to as "yogic sleep," is well known for its effortless de-stressing effects. Once we lie down comfortably and begin to follow the guided invitations to notice sensations, breathing, emotions, and thoughts, our bodies naturally relax and we drift into a states of peace and ease. The iRest® adaptation of the practice has been scientifically proven effective for conditions including chronic pain, sleep problems, depression and anxiety, as well as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). So what is it that makes this practice so powerful?
In this workshop, Shira will share the foundations and principles of Yoga Nidra as well as lead a guided Nidra session to usher you into a relaxed state of ease. For those of you who wish savasana could last so much longer, this practice is for you. Join us to learn some theory and science but mostly enjoy the gift of deep rest.
If you are interested or curious about Yoga Nidra but are unable to make the scheduled workshop time, register and we will send you a recording afterwards for you to enjoy and practice with at your own convenience, within the following week.
