October Full moon meditation
FREE EVENT: in person & live online!
Sunday, October 13, 5:00 - 6:00pm
Just as the oceans' tides are affected by the full moon, so are the tides of our emotions. We can either get swept away in overwhelm by our heightened sensitivity or use it to harness the power of the moon and ride the waves of life towards a more intimate connection with our True Nature.
Our True Nature is an aliveness so wild and free, so intelligent and profound that it can easily handle all sensations, all feelings, all thoughts--increased by the pull of the moon or not. By spending time in meditation, by noticing this present moment and what is unfolding right now, we cultivate a deep friendship with our own selves. This is how we access the endless ocean of calm with which to meet all experiences in life. This Full Moon Meditation gathering begins with a talk about the seasonal changes and a teaching about Presence. It's followed by a seated meditation (though you can bring a mat and lie down). No previous experience necessary. Please invite your friends to join! Date & Time: Sunday, October 13, 2019, 5:00 - 6:00pm. After we conclude, you're invited to stay and hang out, connect with others, and nourish in a sense of community.
Props/Clothing: Chairs are available. You may sit on a chair and/or wish to bring your own mat, cushion, blanket and sit or lie down on floor (some wall space for leaning is available). Cost & Registration: Free! Please register below and indicate whether you would like to join in-person or live online/call-in. If you sign up to join remotely, you'll receive a follow up email with info on how to connect via Zoom or phone. Location & Parking: 816 Easley Street, Silver Spring, MD 20910.
