We walk around this world, often thinking of ourselves as individuals and not seeing the threads that connect us to all that is, including our ancestors. Because so many of our personal and family histories are fraught with strife, trauma, immeasurable grief, and great hardships, we may not know about or even feel like we want to connect with the ones who came before us.
But who they are and what they went through affects our lives everyday through those invisible threads. Seemingly unrelated issues in our own lives, like illnesses and injuries, relationships concerns and heartbreaks, career challenges and choices are all impacted by what came before us and continues to live on unnoticed in our DNA, psyche, and soul.
When we take the time to shift perspective from our human eyes and mind to seeing through the eyes of the heart, the world of intimate connection with everything opens up.
We begin to see areas in our past or family's past that are holding us back somehow, that make us feel incomplete or out of place, areas that are frozen out of alignment or order. |
As we give these areas our heart's warm attention, the freeze in which they've been held melts away. Obstacles, ruptures, and great grievances come into natural repair. This supports the flow of love, strength, and powerful energy into our hearts and lives. Either at the moment of the workshop or as a slow trickle over the following few months, we start to feel this flow increase and sense ourselves both restored somehow and reinvigorated to live our lives more fully.
What happens in this workshop?
We begin by opening sacred space shamanically with drumming and song to shift our attention from everyday reality to the inner landscape of our heart. We call in all our teachers, helpers, and guides and begin to open up to our connection with the nature that we are, nature all around us, and all members of our family system.
Since our hearts already know this connection, there's nothing for us to do but listen and feel. We're not making something happen so much as removing the obstacles of the mind, thoughts, conditioning, and beliefs that block us from perceiving what is already and always here.
During this time, we also connect with our prayers, our heartfelt wishes and intentions, what it is that we would like to see or understand, heal or make better somehow. It's a place for us to connect with and receive our innate wisdom, guidance, and direction for what it is we're currently facing in life. This part alone can be deeply healing and transformative.
You can lie down, sit up, or move around for this first portion of the workshop. Your camera can be on or off.
Once we've opened sacred space, our second portion is dedicated to a group constellation in which typically one person's concern is addressed for their highest good and the highest good of all. Some of us may serve as witnesses. Others may be asked to represent a family member or something else in the constellation (like a helpful resource, an emotion, or event). At times, instead of constellating someone's particular concern, we may look at a universal issue or dynamic that would benefit us all.
Instructions and guidelines are provided as needed throughout the constellation. Whatever unfolds, simply by showing up and being present, we all gain access to great gifts of insight and healing.
The nature of this second part of the workshop calls for us to see each other and feel each other's presence through the screen. For this, you're asked to keep your camera on for the second part. Also, while the workshop terms ask you to agree to being recorded, this particular set of workshops will NOT be recorded.
No previous experience is necessary. Plus, you do not need to know much about or research your family history in order to participate and benefit fully. Your heart already knows what your mind does not.

Other important info
In the time leading up to the workshop, I invite you to set an intention to connect with your own heart and open to seeing through the eyes of your heart. This is how we begin to prepare for the workshop. Notice any insights that arrive, shifts, or changes. Notice too any areas of your life where you'd like to experience more strength and support, more clarity and growth, more love and ease. Make note of all of this (maybe journey, if you'd like) plus any dreams or other awarenesses that you may experience about your family, yourself, and your life. You wont be asked to share this, but it will definitely deepen your experience.
When it's time to meet, please log on to the Zoom session 5 - 10 minutes before the start time to say hello and settle in. We begin promptly. It's best to sit in a quiet area where you will not be disturbed and use a set of headphones for best sound (both for hearing and to be heard). A computer or tablet is best for this kind of workshop, as you will want to have access to the Gallery View and see everyone on the same screen.
