Cultivating Joy: A Yoga Nidra Summer Solstice Celebration
Sat, Jun 22, 2-4pm
@ SKY HOUSE YOGA, Silver Spring, MD
As the solstice ushers in the summer season, we gather together in sacred ceremony to honor the life-giving force of the sun and welcome the warm pulsation of joy in our hearts.
This is a potent time for healing wounds of heartbreak, for easing the rapid heat of anxiety, and for soothing the parts of ourselves that have felt alone for far too long.
Moved by the rhythms of the nature that we are, in summer our hearts are naturally drawn to (re)connecting with others and ourselves, to unstructured play time, and that embodied fiery experience of being alive, expansive, and an integral part of the interconnected web of life.
Through a series of self-applied acupressure points (no needles!), self-reflection, and iRest® Yoga Nidra meditation, we tend safely to our hearts, allow the warmth of connection to melt away the illusion of separation, and feel into the ever-present, bountiful joy that we are.
Every body is welcome; no previous experience necessary.
Yoga Nidra practice is one of the most relaxing, yet invigorating practices--I really moved into it.
