One of the many lessons the pandemic has taught me is the value of regularly scheduled time to feel into what is ok. Beneath the veils of what feels not ok, what is uncertain, falling apart, changing, alarming, and mystifying, there is a core essence in all of us that is somehow always ok. True friendship develops when we visit our okayness often, as it would with a person. We get to know it intimately, to connect with it, to let it into our hearts, where it nourishes and empowers us deeply. Try this exercise: Bring to mind a precious, heartfelt moment, like the hand of a loved one in yours, a gorgeous sunset, or a sweet gesture from your pet. Feel how something in you softens and how, for a brief instant, the rest of the world, thoughts, worries, etc' drop away. Breathe with it. This is a touch of okayness. There is more. In the upcoming True Friendship: Women's Meditation Circle we unveil our okayness and visit with it often. We practice timeless techniques for encountering it daily amidst everything that is happening in our lives and the world. We share in this inquiry with other like-hearted women and support each other to live and love authentically, rooted in wholeness.

There's an easily accessible and helpful acupressure point for joint pain, anger, and flexibility in all areas of life. It's called Gall Bladder 34.
Acupressure points are located all over the body and act like windows to the entire energy system. By applying very gentle pressure with just the fingertips on the surface of the skin at these point locations, the whole energy system is invited to recalibrate and balance. Gall Bladder 34 is a good point for: -- JOINT PAIN… It releases stiffness and tightness in the joints and muscles all over the body. -- ANGER… It dissolves old frustrations and anger that inhibits growth. -- FLEXIBILITY... It cultivates healthy flexibility in the body, mind, heart, and spirit. Also great for coming out of the slowness of winter and into the action of spring. This point is called Yang Mound Spring. By applying gentle pressure to Gall Bladder 34, it’s as if we’ve stepped under or onto a spring of fresh water that simultaneously washes away the old as it rejuvenates us. With this renewed sense of vitality, we can move our body with greater ease, make decisions with agility, and take action with confidence. It's called Pericardium, or Heart Protector, 7 (PC / HP 7).
Acupressure points are located all over the body and act like windows to the entire energy system. By applying very gentle pressure with just the fingertips on the surface of the skin at these point locations, the whole energy system is invited to recalibrate and balance. Pericardium 7 is a good point for… -- CHEST PAIN (or tightness and tension in the chest as well as the lateral costal region) -- ANXIETY (and also insomnia) -- HEARTACHE/BREAK (especially the kind caused by emotional upset or a breakup) This point is called Great Mound. By applying gentle pressure to Pericardium 7, it’s as if we’ve climbed up to a great mound from which we can survey our life and know that we are ok, even if what we see is not all ok. Also, this point connects us to the ancestral wisdom encoded in our DNA. This is the wisdom of all of those who have come before us, who lived and loved and know all about having relationships on this planet. By holding this point, we invite this wisdom to support us from within. Check out this video for instructions on how to locate acupressure point Pericardium 7. The video also contains a simple meditation, or visualization, to increase the potency and effectiveness of the point. There's an easily accessible and very helpful acupressure point for back pain, overwhelming fear, and wintertime balance. It's called Bladder 40/54.
Acupressure points are located all over the body and act like windows to the entire energy system. When applying very gentle pressure with just the fingertips at these point locations, the whole energy system is invited to recalibrate and balance. Bladder 40 (54) is a great point for: -- BACK PAIN... especially of the low back and backs of the knees, though it addresses tension and aches along the entire back of the body. By applying gentle pressure to Bladder 40, we invite the tension, aches, and pains in the back of the body to drain down and out of the feet. (In Soul Lightening Acupressure, this point is actually called Back Drain). -- FEAR... especially overwhelming or overflowing fear (those moments when fear seems endless or it is showing up in many aspects of life). By applying gentle pressure to Bladder 40, it’s as if we’re reminding ourselves that we do not walk this earth alone and that there’s plenty of support here (even if it feels like there isn’t). -- FEELING OVEREXTENDED... depleted, and exhausted at any time of the year and particularly during winter, a season that typically supports slowing down, resting, and restoring. By applying gentle pressure to Bladder 40, it’s as if we’re conserving every single drop of energy that we do have in order to survive, replenish, and thrive. Check out this video for instructions on how to locate acupressure point Bladder 40 while seated or lying down. The video also contains a simple meditation, or visualization, to increase the potency and effectiveness of the point. For my birthday this year, I enjoyed sharing a live meditation online via Zoom focused on witnessing the birth of life in each and every moment from the safe homeground of our being.
